Dragons Den Update: Colin Nottage invests in Vintage Vinyls and AME

IMG are pleased to announce that Colin Nottge has invested into Vintage Vinyls and AME at the recent Young Enterprise Dragons Den.

Colin said 'I was extremely impressed with all the groups that came to present their ideas. Their enthusiasm is infectious and I hope to learn from the guys as well as give them beneft of my experience.'

Vintage Vinyls are working on gifts from old vinyl records using state of the art cutting equipment. AME have some great plans for developing seasonal gift boxes for men and women.


Health and Safety Executive updates guidance on COSHH and DSEAR with revisions to ACOPs

INFORMATION on controlling substances that are hazardous to the health of workers has been updated to help businesses comply with legal requirements.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has revised its Approved Code of Practice to clarify and simplify practical advice to help duty-holders comply with the requirements of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).


IMG owner to be a 'Dragon'

IMG Owner Colin Nottage has been asked to be a Dragon by the Peterborough Board of Young Enterprise.

 

The 'Dragons Den' event which is being run at Peterborough Town Football Club on the 6th November is an opportunity for young entrepraneurs to network, seek assistance and also secure some initial funding for their projects.


Changes to health and safety legislation

Two revised health and safety regulations take effect today that will help businesses more easily comply with the law. The reporting of workplace injuries has been simplified and greater flexibility has been introduced for managing the provision of first aid training. First aid The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 have been amended to remove the requirement for HSE to approve first aid training and qualifications. The change is part of HSE's work to reduce the burden on businesses and put common sense back in to health and safety, while maintaining standards.


First Group award IMG Behavioural safety contract

IMG are pleased to announce that they have won a contract to deliver behavioural safety training into a division of First Group. Working Closely with the health and safety and insurance departments IMG are helping to challenge and change and improve the attitude of staff towards health and safety.

Health and Safety support to KP Snacks

IMG have won a significant contract to supply health and safety support to KP Snacks. IMG will be working with the companies management team to employees to identify significant workplace risks and implement systems and training.

The project that is starting in September is due to run for an initial 12 - 18 month period.


New figures show fall in fatal injuries to workers

The number of workers killed in Britain last year has fallen, official statistics published today (9th July 2013) show.

Provisional data released by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) reveals that 148 workers were fatally injured between April 2012 and March 2013, compared with 172 in the previous year.

The overall rate of fatal injury has dropped to 0.5 per 100,000 workers, below the five-year average of 0.6.
